Going to Florida is one of the most amazing and adventurous things you’ll ever do in your life, no matter how old you are, where you’re coming from, and what you’re into! Whether you’re a fan of Disney, Hemingway, or sunshine, you’ll have a blast in Florida and find lots of activities you’ll be able to enjoy. However, if you wish to make the most of your time in this great state, you need to make a list of things you’d like to see and do because you’ll just end up having a messy and unorganized time instead. Making a list of things to do in Florida might sound like an easy task, but it might turn into a nightmare, depending on who you’re going with and what your companions love doing.

However, regardless of these details, there’s one thing you’ll all probably going to love – going to Everglades National Park! This is one of the most popular destinations in Florida and one of the most popular and beautiful national parks in the USA, which is why visiting it at least once in your life is simply a must. So, in case you’d like to do this as well, here are a few reasons why that might be a great idea and several suggestions that might help you find what to do in Everglades National Park.

Visit the Everglades Seafood Festival

Every place in the world comes with its own local cuisine that combines the effects of the local food market with the insistence on local flavors. This is what makes each of these local cuisines unique and special, and that’s why tourists generally love trying out new things whenever they go. But, if you go to Everglades National Park and you’re interested in tasting some new food, you’ll probably end up having the time of your life! This is particularly true if you go there in February, right in the middle of the Everglades Seafood Festival.

This joyous occasion celebrates Florida’s tastiest seafood and it will help you feel like a local as well. You’ll be surrounded by tons of people and they’ll be singing, dancing, and eating food like there’s no tomorrow. This festival has a long tradition in this region – it’s been going on for over half a century – and it also comes with a cool aspect of helping the community and the young people from this region in particular. This means that you shouldn’t miss this festival, especially if you’re into great food, amazing time, and festive behavior!

Take a tour

Everglades National Park is one of the largest national parks around, and that means that there are lots of locations you won’t be able to see if you go there for just a day or two. However, each of these corners of the park deserves your attention, time, and energy, so you have to maximize the time you’ll be spending there and make an effort to see all those things that deserve your attention. Doing that won’t be easy, though, nor simple to organize, which is why writing all those details down could help you get organized properly.

If you’re not a fan of doing these things on your own, you can always ask around and find the best way to travel around Everglades National Park. Booking one of those informative Everglades day trips, for instance, might help you see all the things you weren’t able to see before. From hidden corners to some of the most beautiful and picturesque landscapes in the world, opting for these day trips makes a lot of sense in the long run.

Hang out with manatees

If you’re a fan of nature – and you probably are, why else would you go to Everglades National Park in the first place? – you’ll surely want to see as many different animals there as possible. And if you’ve already seen them all, you have to keep digging until you’re able to find something that’s unique and beautiful. And there’s nothing more unique and beautiful than manatees.

The amazing animals are both cute and scary, though, especially because of their size, so make sure you get your kids ready to meet them. But, if you talk to them beforehand and let them know that manatees are among the friendliest and most peaceful animals out there, you won’t have a problem hanging out with them all day long! And what’s even better is that you can’t see a manatee just wherever and whenever you want to, so use this chance and meet some of the most special sea creatures in the world!

Spend some time with flamingos

Speaking of animals you can’t find just anywhere around the world, you need to keep in mind that flamingos are among them as well. And what’s even better is that you can find these pink birds in Florida quite easily, especially if you decide to visit a few secluded spots around the national park.

Keep in mind that you’ll even find a town called Flamingo, Florida there as well, so don’t be afraid to go there too. The thing about flamingos is that they’re not that easy to find, but once you do that, you’ll be able to take some of the most beautiful photos you’ve ever made in your life.

Go to Royal Park Visitor Center

Founded in the middle of the First World War, in 1916, this visitor center has been one of the most important spots in Everglades National Park for over a century now. This is where you can get all the information you need, as well as learn tons of things about this park, its history, and its current position in the world of tourism in Florida.

What this means is that this center comes with more benefits than you can imagine, and that’s what makes it a must-see attraction in Everglades. This should be the first thing you see when you start your adventure because you’ll learn everything here and continue your visit to Everglades knowing all the details about it.
